Concrete:

Freeze-thaw resistance: Refers to the ability of concrete, in a saturated water state, to withstand repeated freeze-thaw cycles without damage or significant reduction in strength. Freeze-thaw resistance is expressed as a freeze-thaw resistance grade.
Impermeability: Refers to the ability of concrete to resist water penetration. The impermeability grade is expressed as an impermeability grade, divided into five grades: P4, P6, P8, P10, and P12. Concrete with an impermeability grade no less than P6 is considered impermeable concrete.
Corrosion resistance: The corrosion resistance of concrete is related to its density, and the type of cement and the characteristics of the internal pores of the concrete also have a significant impact on its corrosion resistance.
Carbonation: CO2 and water in the environment react with Ca(OH)2 in the cement stone inside the concrete to produce calcium carbonate and water, thereby reducing the alkalinity of the concrete and weakening its protective effect on the steel bars. The concentration of carbon dioxide in the environment, environmental humidity, concrete density, cement type, and admixture dosage are the main factors affecting carbonation.
